The Toys for Tots program gives to the less fortunate children, Christmas gifts donated by the business community and individuals. OBP was happy to donate the bikes and Mrs. Villagomez was even happier to receive them. Kudos to the Ladies for their efforts towards community enrichment.

OBP Donates to Toys for Tots
This morning, Off the Beaten Path trekked up to the Lt. Governor's office to donate two children's bike to the Toys for Tots program as part of the First Lady's Vision, but this particular project was coordinated by the 2nd Lady, Margaret Villagomez.

OBP Hall of Fame - Call for Nominations
Off the Beaten Path (OBP), a local non-profit organization founded two years ago to promote community awareness of social and cultural issues and to raise funds to donate to charitable groups in the CNMI, announces the first OBP Hall of Fame award. The Hall of Fame is a way of recognizing CNMI residents who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the social and cultural enrichment of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. OBP is now accepting nominations of individuals deserving of this important award. Nominees must be a resident of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas and should exhibit some or all of the following qualities:
1) Interest in community service;
2) Dedication to the advancement of humanity;
3) Respect for cultural preservation;
4) Volunteerism;
5) Strong character and charisma;
6) Leadership; and
7) Altruism.
The Hall of Fame will be an annual activity of OBP and the winner will be recognized annually at an Off the Beaten Path function that ties in with a fundraiser for a local charity. This year’s winner will be honored at the “Thanksmas” celebration on December 1, 2007. Proceeds from “Thanksmas” will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
